New Information

In June 2006 the self-signed Root Keys of the State were generated, thus putting in operation the Root Certifying Entity of the State, the entity at the top of the certification chain of the Electronic Certification System of the State.

The Certifying Entity of the Government was signed by ECEE during July, benefiting already from the use of the Public Key Infrastructure of the State (SCEE).

During August was signed the Certifying Entity of the Portuguese Electronic Passport which will use already the security mechanisms and the certificates of the Root Certifying Entity of the State, being fully integrated in the Electronic Certification System of the State.
